Just when everyone thought Batty Lindy had planned a nice little 3.6 km stroll by the beach, GM dropped the bombshell before flag-off: "Sai Seng is our co-hare today!" Suddenly the smiles disappeared faster than cold beer at the bucket. That was all the warning anyone needed. If you've ever wondered how fit you really are, forget treadmills and fancy watches—just survive a Sai Seng trail and you'll get your answer, whether you like it or not. Calling this a "medium run" deserves a down-down for false advertising. Over 70% virgin trail, the pack hacked through dense jungle, scrambled over slippery boulders, clawed up relentless climbs, and stumbled into dark ravines that looked like they'd swallow careless hashers whole. Every turn offered another opportunity to question life choices, while every uphill reminded us why Sai Seng has earned his fearsome reputation. Three and a half kilometres has rarely felt so gloriously long. The trail may have beaten up the pack, but it completely defeated our final explorer, who managed to turn a three-hour jungle expedition into her own survival documentary. By the time she emerged, everyone else had already demolished dinner. Huge respect and thanks go to the ever-reliable Frank Bolton, who kindly looked after our lost soul and safely escorted her back to the runsite. That's true Hash spirit—leave no hasher behind, no matter how creatively they've interpreted the trail. Back at the circle, Bunny earned massive applause for producing a delicious home-cooked dinner despite not feeling well. That's dedication worthy of more than a cold beer. The evening ended on a high note as everyone congratulated our very own Dragon Boat Queen, Nelly, for paddling her way to Champion at the 2026 International Dragon Boat Race. Proof that Hashers don't just suffer in the jungle—they win on the water too. Verdict: Brutal trail. Evil co-hare. Fantastic jungle. Wonderful Bunny. Heroic rescue. Well-earned beer.
