Run #2748 by Pussycat at Waterfall Rd Big Car Park

After weeks of travelling and nearly two weeks away from the trails, this week's run was a rude but welcome reminder that the hills show no mercy! What was meant to be a "welcome back run" quickly turned into a leg-burning adventure, with a crazy 667m climb packed into 6.8km. The body may have been questioning life choices halfway up, but the view, the challenge, and the sense of accomplishment made every step worthwhile. It has been quite some time since our kennel enjoyed a run of this distance and intensity. The best part was seeing so many hashers completing the full trail and making it back to the runsite. Faces were exhausted, shirts were soaked, legs were screaming—but the smiles said it all. Tired bodies, satisfied hearts, and plenty of stories to tell over the beers afterwards. With GM away, a special thank you goes to our ever-reliable GM Emeritus and VGM for keeping the Down-Down circle running smoothly. They stepped up, kept the chaos under control (well, as much as possible in a Hash circle), and ensured the post-run proceedings remained entertaining as always. Last but certainly not least, a huge thank you to our run setters for laying an excellent trail and our bunny providing great food to refuel the battered hikers. A tough climb, a strong turnout, good company, and good grub—what more could a hasher ask for? Verdict: Brutal climb. Aching legs. Happy hashers. Excellent trail and food. A perfect welcome back run.
