Run #2745 by Biking Sheila at Charlie Market

Run Report

Arriving at the runsite at Charlie Market — lovingly nicknamed the “Stinky Runsite” — hashers were greeted by Bunny and her cheerful gang of guests. Familiar faces, familiar noise, and familiar confusion… truly a proper hash family reunion. GM gathered everyone sharply at 5.30pm for the briefing, although in true GM fashion, he forgot to welcome the guests. Bunny, unwilling to let hospitality die, loudly shouted “Welcome guests!” while everyone was already marching toward the starting point. Efficient? Not really. Entertaining? Absolutely. No surprise for seasoned sufferers — the run began with the legendary staircase climb. Run setters confidently announced that it would be a “long but easy run” and strongly advised everyone not to SCB (Short Cut Body). Of course, most hashers immediately ignored the warning because hashers telling the truth about a run is rarer than finding dry socks after trail. But shockingly… this time the hares did not cry wolf. The trail turned out to be a surprisingly relaxed 5km jungle stroll, with most hashers comfortably finishing within one and a half hours. No killer hills, no near-death experiences, and no emergency oxygen required. Some even wondered if they accidentally joined a nature appreciation walk instead of hash. Back at the runsite, our beloved Emeritus GM made a welcome appearance after missing many runs due to her leg injury. It was wonderful seeing her back among the pack, catching up with loyal members and proving once again that hashers never retire — they merely rest temporarily. Dinner was served once all hashers safely returned… but Bunny forgot to bring cutlery. Suddenly the circle transformed into a survival challenge as members hunted for spoons, forks, chopsticks, or any usable eating device. Some nearly looked ready to eat curry with bare hands. Hash adaptability at its finest. Bunny redeemed herself beautifully by surprising everyone with a heartwarming birthday run gift. Down-Down circle kicked off after dinner, with Emeritus GM clearly making up for lost time by unleashing her trademark shouts loud enough to wake neighbouring kampungs. She passionately reminded everyone to continue supporting club events and keeping the hash family spirit alive. Circle ended with a small birthday celebration for today’s Bunny, followed by generous wishes, questionable singing, and of course… social drinking sessions that mysteriously became louder as the night went on. Verdict: Suspiciously easy run. Honest hares for once. Forgotten cutlery but unforgettable atmosphere. Excellent comeback by Emeritus GM and enough shouting to recharge club spirit for another week. On On to next week’s run at Hin Hin Seafood Restaurant — brand new runsite, brand new suffering. Hope to see all there ya!
